Set max words or lines before 'read more'

I'm using a testimonial marquee widget and two rows is far more imposing and visually impressive than one row. But two rows goes very high on the viewport and makes using it in a 2 column row difficult. An easy fix would be a setting to define the max number of words or lines of text before a review is truncated.
