Form: Verified by Senja label on submitted testimonials

Proof. Social proof, without proof, is not worth anything.

Testimonials submitted using Senja forms need to be clickable and "verified" by a the page on Senja.io - basically saying that Senja service collected this review and provides some credibility that its a real persons review. Else its impossible to have a wall of love that is credible, because all the reviews could be fake without proof....

Yes, ProveSrc does this. When you click the link you get a page saying it is verified.

@Phil @Roel What sort of verification are you looking for?

At the end of the day it probably doesnt need to be a lot. Just a statement that Senja verified that the review (which you could do as simple as sending reviewers an email to click a link on).

@Phil The front end is easy, I am just wondering what the verification logic would be. So you're suggesting verifying the email address. What about asking them to login with linkedin?

Personally I dont mind haha. But there are loads of ways that verification could be done. The simplest is just the verify the email address, to the most complex is oauth login with social media/linkedin/facebook etc. We are not even really verifying what they SAY rather than who they ARE. A real person. Site visitors just want to know its a real person commenting.

Or a the VERY least a Senja collected review should be clickable, and load the review on the custom domain or senja domain, and state what date it was submitted, and a statement that it was submitted through the testimonal service Senja.

Look at https://mysites.guru/reviews/ we used to have "proof" these were legitimate reviews/comments as they were linked to Twitter (you need to replace the bird logo and make the WHOLE COMMENT clickable not just the bird icon!) whereas the latest comments there collected by Senja have no way for a site visitor to check they are not just made up by me.....

@Phil We know the issue and I see all your messages. We're just making sure that if we say something is verified we have actually verified it meaningfully.

Others have asked for this too - duplicate here: https://feedback.senja.io/p/verified-by

Love this, yes. Here are thoughts on possible implementation:

    • Verified by Senja "verified" logo can be added if the recipient used the "magic" link emailed to their inbox.

      • Logo can take users to a dedicated page for a business (another feature?)

      • Logo can be a tooltip saying it was verified by Senja via email w/ date submitted

    • Verified by Senja "verified" logo can be added if the recipient used the "magic" link emailed to the same email of record in Stripe, Paypal, etc (might require Stripe, Paypal, etc integration)

      • Logo can have a tooltip explaining that it was connected to a purchase via Stripe, Paypal, etc

    • Logo with a link to the post on the respective service (ie. Linkedin Google logo next to the Google review.) This way people can click it to see on Google themselves

    Hey @Phil

Thanks for the detailed write-up on this and for keeping the thread going with examples.

To sum up what's being asked for here:

    • Senja-collected testimonials should carry some form of verifiable proof that they're real

    • It can be a clickable verified by Senja page showing the submission date and collection method, an email verification badge, or OAuth login via LinkedIn/social

    • The minimum bar being a public permalink per review that states it was collected through Senja, when, and that the submitter confirmed their email

    • Reference: https://provesrc.com/verified/

    • On top of that, for imported reviews (Twitter, Trustpilot, etc.), the entire card should be clickable through to the original, not just the small platform logo (see https://feedback.senja.io/p/whole-review-should-be-clickable-to-the-proof)

Opening this up for discussion and waiting for more upvotes.

    Cheers,

Well after 2 years I simply gave up, Im still paying you - just, but I recoded all the use of senja widgets because loading the 3rd party js/css/etc was repeatedly flagged as “slower” than my site was, and because there was no real “verification” of the human reviews. I think my days as a subscriber are close to an end … for the sake of a form to collect reviews, store in CF D1 and display static…

        Hey @Phil

        So sorry for this…

You can increase the performance of your widget following this guide:

Will my widget slow down my website?

As for feature request, I’m going through all of them as fast as I can - adding them to the list of improvements we can do for our users.

If you have any issue that scream “bugs”, thanks to address it to support@senja.io or from here: https://senja.io/contact

Thanks and let me know if I can help you with anything.

        Cheers,
